the first to know about our next competition click here This year's competition has now been concluded with success. A total of 23 fashion schools and universities across EU participated and inspired young designers from 6 European countries to compete in our international competition.
The winning designs this year were selected as follows:
500 € First Prize goes to a student of North-Karelia University of Applied Sciences, Finland
 The winning design featured inspiration from the Himalaya Mountains. The jury prized the use of embroidery, bright red and purple tones in an adventurouse outfit and the particularly beautiful knitwear.
200 € Second Prize goes to a designer from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK
 The designer had coral textures and urban graffiti as sources of inspiration. The positive atmosphere embedded in the colours of the outfit, imaginative prints and playfulness with contrast colours lead to the jury’s decision.
We thank all the young designers participating this year as well as all the other great people we had the pleasure of working with!

Overview of the Competition
FIC09 is an international fashion design competition which is open for all students of fashion and textile desing who are currently studying or have recently graduated. FIC09 has roots in Finland and it's organized by Mondelin. Our purpose is to brighten the autumn of young designers and create job opportunities as freelance designers. The best entires are rewarded with money prizes and the winner's designs are intended to be produced.
The competition is entered by designing an indoor wear outfit. The outfit consists of 3-4 items for which artistic and technical sketches have to be made. For detailed instructions see How to Enter the competition -link below.
