FIC09 Prizes
The winner of the competition is selected by evaluating both the outfit and idividual items according to the evaluation criteria. The jury is made up of fashion industry experts employed by Mondelin covering a palette of professions.
This year FIC09 awards prizes for the first and second place:
First Prize - 500 €
Second Prize - 200 €
In addition to the money prize the designs of the winner will be produced.
Evaluation Criteria
The primary evaluation criterion is the creative response to the task description. Evaluation considers both the outfit as a whole and individually the items composing it.
In addition the entries are evaluated for comfortability and from a commercial perspective.
FIC09 Comeptition Rules
FIC09 is intended for young designers studying fashion or textile design.
- FIC09 competition is organized by Mondelin oy of Finland.
- To enter the competition you must be at least 18 years old and an EU citizen.
- Entries must be mailed to FIC09 to the address provided in the instructions no later than 30.11.2009. The date of sending is determined by post office date stamp on the package or parcel service pickup date.
- Entries that arrive in FIC09 address later than 18.12.2009 will be rejected.
- You must certify that your submission is the result of your personal creativity, is solely your own work and that copyrights of others have not been infringed.
- The submissions enrolled in FIC09 must not be presented in any other context such as enrolled in other fashion contest, awards, or events during the period of the competition.
- You must complete and send Registration Form with your entry to FIC09.
- Once submitted, you cannot withdraw your entry.
- Original entiries are not returned so you are advised to keep copies of materials submitted.
- By submitting your entry, you agree that your entry may be published online or in anyother media in relation to this competition.
- If you win the first or second prize of FIC09 competition, you agree to the full assignment of all copyrights to the organizer of the competition according to the Transfer of Rights Agreement found hereunder.
- The organizer of FIC09 reserves the right to reject any entry that does not comply with the requirements of the competition.
- By submitting your entry, you confirm that you have read and understood the competition rules and Transfer of Rights Agreement.
- These rules are governed by the laws of Finland.
Transfer of Rights Agreement in case you win
When you win the first or second price of FIC09 competition your designs submitted for the competition may be produced and used for commercial purposes. For this reason, if you win, you will have to assign all rights to the organizer of this competition.
- All exclusive and transferable rights to use, publish, advertise, copy, modify, alter and reproduce the submitted designs in any possible (commercial and non-commercial) way shall be assigned in exchange for the prize of the competition to the organizer of FIC09. The exclusive right means that no other person will be allowed to use the submitted designs, including you.
- The assigned rights are not restricted by time, region or to a specific type of usage. It also includes the right to transfer the rights to third persons and to grant sublicenses as well as the right to use the submitted designs in any media, including TV, internet, radio, the press, all printed advertising media, CD/DVD or all other data-carriers, for merchandising and to be printed on all kinds of objects, packages and documents.
- As far as it is allowed by the law, the entrant also assigns any undiscovered rights to the organizer. This may become relevant in the future, if a new way of usage will be discovered.
- The organizer shall have the right to use the submitted designs as described above, but there shall also be no obligation to use them.
- Transferring all legal rights related to the submitted designs to the organizer will be regulated by a contract between the winner and the organizer. The laureate shall transfer all the rights related to the submitted designs in this contract in exchange for the prize of the competition to the organizer.
